The painting was part of the permanent collection at the London Arts Club in Dover Street until November 2009. The Arts Club made a foolish attempt to sell the painting to raise money for a "make-over" (Bonhams, Knightsbridge, 10 November 2009) but appears to have been thwarted by legal issues. The work is now in a private collection where, no doubt it is treasured. Two other lots in the same sale (one by Graham Arnold and one by Graham Ovenden) went through a similar ordeal.
